Baby coughing and sneezing but no cold/flu?
My 5 month old son has been coughing and sneezing for the last 4 days. He has no temperature or other cold/flu symptoms. He has also been irritable/agitated and is having trouble sleeping. He also keeps tugging at his ear (and it looks like sometimes he is trying to get inside his ear). Been to the doctor, no ear infection, just told me to keep a watch on his breathing and temperature. I think he is teething - could the coughs and sneezes be related? Has anyone had this happen to them?

Sounds like he may have allergies. Have you recently changed anything in his environment or introduced him to anything new.

One of my twins cough and sneezes all the time...it could just be the mucus in his nose and the extra spit in his mouth. I too think my twins are teething. Usually the tugging of the ear means an infection, if one hasn't arosed maybe ones coming you never know what is happening cuz our babies can't tell us. just make sure hes comfortable, happy.

teething. It makes the babies produce a lot of saliva (as you've likely noticed by the drool) and this makesthe cough. Lotsof kids seem to get runny noses too and tugging at the ear is very typical of teething, too.
one of my twins does all of this when teething (plus the crabbies, chewing, etc.)
