Can tell me what is difference between swine flu and normal cold?
I think cold will come without body pain but swine flu with body pain, headache and fever. But it seems there is no much difference between them

Hello Sophia,
Correct - In general it is very hard to describe the difference between swine flu and a normal flu!
But nevertheless, some reports indicate that problems with the respiratory system (lungs, throat + nose) are typically indicative for the H1N1 (swine flu) virus.
Anyway, the major 'swine flu' symptoms (H1N1 virus) are:
1) systemic (fever, lethargy);
2) runny nose, soar throth;
3) respiratory (couching);
4) gastric (nauea, vomiting);
5) intestinal (diarrhea);
6) muscles (pain);
7) joints (pain);
8) psychological (lack of appetite).
(The source below presents many more DETAILS!)
Best wishes from the Netherlands!
Martijn.
PS. By the way, for people who feel sich it doesn't really matter if you have the 'swine flu' or a normal 'cold' - just a long as the symptoms are not overwhelming!!!

normal cold is somtimes due to allergy or even virus .you may not have fever and could be treated with decongestant only. but swine flu with fever , body pains. and with colds or coryza ans should treated appropriately to prevent complications and strict isolation of the case is necessary .
