Can tiredness and lack of sleep lead to cold/fever like symptoms?
Have been suffering from a cold the past couple of weeks, mostly over it now and basically back to normal by last weekend. However today I'm short of sleep, only got three hours last night and I'm exhausted.

I woke up with a sore-throat, a blocked sinus and a headache. Have I caught a new cold? Or is it just the old one made worse by my lack of sleep?

No doubt about it. Sleep is your body's recovery period and lack of it can cause problems. Also, your immune system becomes weaker and things you normally would fight off have a much better chance of affecting you :/ Good luck and go to bed!

Yes, without adequate sleep your immune system is weakened and you can either catch something new or a bug that you've been fighting can get worse. Gargle with salt water for the sore throat, go back to bed and get lots of sleep, have some hot chicken soup to help your stuffy sinuses. Consider adding in some supplements to your diet to help to strenthen your immune system. Feel better soon. I've attached an article with more tips on how to fight the common cold.
