How do I protect myself from influenza flu?
All my family members seem to have the influenza flue that has been going around. Luckily I was vaccinated in October but I was wondering what else can I do to protect myself from getting the flu from them? What other things can I do to protect myself?

If you're in that close contact with them, you're kind of hosed. hopefully the strain they have is covered by your shot. Generally, don't get too close to them, eat healthy, get lots of vitamin c from stuff like orange juice.
If you get sick, you'll get sick, but you won't be as horribly feeling as you would if you didn't get inoculated.

Wash your hands a lot. Get plenty of rest and eat right. You already did the most important thing - getting a flu shot.

Stay about 4 feet away especially if they are coughing. Hand-washing is really important... Look at the link below

The flu shot was a great first step, but here is what you can do to reduce your chances of catching the flu virus from the family:
-Spend as much time away from your house while they are sick. If you can eat some meals/ spend a few nights at a friend's house, that will help out a lot.
-go out and get them some Kleenex Anti-Viral tissues. This is a great move b/c they will appreciate it, and these little things kill 99.9% of the flu virus when it is inside the tissue. Powerful stuff!
-and don't forget to help them out in other ways, even if it is just doing a bit of grocery shopping. Choose things that will minimize your contact with them, of course. This will help them focus on getting better, instead of doing chores!
