What can i do to help my three month olds cold?
My little boy is just 6 days shy of being three month old. I've noticed that for the few days he's had a slight stuffy nose and cough that has turned into a congested chest cold. is there anything I can do to help him get rid of this? He can barely breath through his nose in the morning and I can hear the mucus in his chest when he breaths in! He's not running a fever but he's very cranky.
What can I do to help him, and should I take him to the doctor?
Thanks!

My daughter was born in August and over the winter she was stuffy several times. I found running a cool mist humidifier on high in her room overnight would clear her up almost immediately. You can also try some saline drops in her nose and using a nasal bulb to clear her stuffed up nose.
You probably don't need to have her seen by the doctor, but call and advise them of her symptoms and they may have additional recommendations for things to try.

If u have eucalyptus oil you could put a little on your fingers and pass it along his nose, don't let it get on his skin, this should clear his nostril, also let him sleep in his cap colds tend to get worse at nights.

Humidifier (or have him sit in bathroom while the shower steams), Infant Tylenol, saline spray. Dr will probably just tell you the same thing; just keep an eye on his temp.

Use a booger bulb and keep a humidifier going at all times. If the cough gets worse, take him in.Also watch his temp.I hope it goes away soon.

Sadly, there are no over the counter medicines that can help or that are safe. Only thing you can do is help him feel more comfortable. Thankfully it will pass. What you can do is get saline drops and a product called a nasal aspirator. I have four kids and used it on the last three. I will be having another one this Sunday and will be using it on him. He may cry but it really is important to get the congestion out. You will have to use it several times a day. I would also use a cold mist humidifier to help put moisture in the air. You can also put a few drops of Eucalyptus oil in the water. That helps kill and bacteria or mold in the humidifier and acts as Vick's. I would gently pat his back and chest and rub his back and chest to help loosen the mucus.
If he seems to be getting worse in the next couple days it wont hurt to take him in to be checked.
Good luck and I promise, this to shall pass.
