What causes Flu like symptoms, but no FLU?
Once or twice a month I start to get weird symptoms. All over body aches, sore throat (minor), tender glands, fatigue, and loss of appetite. The symptoms last 24-48 hours and then disappear. It seems really weird. It feels just like you would the night before you get the full blown flu. Also I tend to feel really cold during these periods too. The only prescription I take is Prozac for anxiety. I would like to go to the doctor, but am afraid this is too vague, or worse really nothing to worry about.

If something in your body doesn't feel right, it isn't, so you have a right to be worried!

I have chronic Lyme disease, and this is almost always how I hear it described by other patients- they feel like they have the flu. It's one of the first warning signs, actually. I would seriously look into Lyme because left untreated, it can be dangerous.

That is something I would look into, but be extremely careful when doing your research, there is a lot of harmful information out there about Lyme disease. I will provide some links to sites that will give you the best information out there (but note, there are different symptoms between early and late stage lyme. also, not every patient gets every symptom; it's different in every person!). Also, just another warning. Most doctors have no idea how to treat something like this, so if you believe you may have it, you will need to find a specialist that treats Lyme disease. Blood tests are inaccurate as well, so you have to rely on a clinical diagnosis from a trained Lyme physician (you may have to email an organization to get a list of doctors that treat lyme in your area. due to the political nature of the disease, most prefer not to have their names easily available). But I have all of these symptoms (including anxiety) except loss of appetite which makes me suspicious that it could be early Lyme. Just something to consider, though of course I'm not a doctor so I could be wrong! I really hope this helps you, and good luck finding out what's wrong!! (these links should provide helpful information to look into)

This is what many lyme people state. Check these out for symptoms and testing and real people that were misdiagnosed. The anxiety and tender glands were a key in your write up more than the body aches.

Besides Lyme, ticks can also transmit several co-infections including Babesiosis, two types of Ehrlichiosis (HME & HGE), Bartonella, and Mycoplasma. Many people who have Lyme are co-infected , which can affect treatment choice and progress. It is important to be tested by a Lyme reputable lab such as IgeneX in Palo Alto, CA. NOT the doc in the box labs. At minimum do the western blot not just the worthless Elisa test. The other thing is the wrong length of med treatment - 10 days will not take care of these if it is the problem. CDC stated 4 weeks in their brochure avail online.
