What's the difference between a cold and a flu?
I have to take shots for middle school and my friend told me that if I don't have a flu I can take the shots... Right now I either hav a cold or the flu and I'm not quite sure what the difference is so ..

Flu is named after the fnfluenza viruses that infect your body. Colds are also caused by viruses but a different type. Without getting a blood test the most simple way of finding out is comparing symptoms. Here are a couple links to tests you can take to see which one you have.

If you have the flu, you may be throwing-up, feel like throwing-up, have aches and pains in your joints, have the shivers, feel cold, have a headache, diarrhea and be sensitive to bright light.
If you have a cold, you may have a runny nose, headache, sore throat, cough.
Basically - a cold is more of a head and chest viral infection. A flu is a viral infection that affects your whole body.
Good luck!
