Any advice on over 3 months of cold symptoms?
I'm 19 and I've had these cold/allergy symptoms for over 3 months now. It started in late spring when I developed a cold or flu, something of the sort. I was coughing, had a sore throat, runny nose, swollen lymph nodes (in the neck), etc.

I visited my doctor and got the Z-pack, started feeling better. However, even though I felt better my lymph nodes stayed swollen and I kept the allergy symptoms. I understand the allergy symptoms because I obviously have allergy problems during the summer.

I went back to the doctor and talked to him about my lymph nodes and my symptoms and they did a blood test. He said it was because of my allergies and my cold that they were swollen. Then he just gave prescribed me some pills to take. Don't remember what they were though. Not too concerned about it really. They also got my blood test back and said that everything checks out.

My big worry is that it's been a long while now (over 3 months) and my lymph nodes in my neck (I'm pretty sure they're lymph nodes) are still swollen, not the big ones under the jaw, but small pea sized nodes down my neck. There's 2 on the right side and 1 on the left. I hate to go back to the doctor and waste my money again if this is not a serious issue. Any ideas? Possible solutions? Similar cases and outcomes? Any information at all would be great.

Thanks,
Jon

avoid cold foods or drinks.

try drinking some hot drinks especially in the morning [like coffee or hot choco]

exhale some hot air [try putting some hot water in a glass bowl and breathe the 'smoke-like-thingy' rising, u can use a blanket at the same time to have a better effect].

don't sleep on air-conditioned rooms.

well...getting rid of colds is just simply staying warm...

hope u get well soon :))

the lymph nodes, are they painful? If NOT, please see your doctor. If they are painful, then they are swollen probably due to infection or inflammation.

What you need is an allergist not a primary. He's treating you for what your complaining abut, not what he should be.
You probably have seasonal allergies and they're acting up. You have to get an inhaler or nebullizer for your bronchial tubes to your lungs, this is where the problem is that your having. Colds, even reoccurring colds, don't last this long.
