can i take a flu shot with a cold?

You can have a flu shot, but not flu mist. A flu shot is injecting dead flu cells into your body to build immunity, flu mist is giving watered down live flu germs into you, so if you have flu symptoms, you can get the flu. Hope I helped!

Well if you have a cold and get the flu shot you will have a greater chance of showing flu symptoms! However I have a cold and just received my flu shot and all I have as a symptom is a headache! So yes you can get one :)

* I would not recommend getting the flu mist
AT ALL sick or not because the flu mist contains the live bacteria and is almost
certain to make you ill. The shot contains an altered virus (I spoke with my local hospital and asked because I was also curious) meaning it is neither dead or considered alive it is just there (if that makes sense) it is altered enough to allow our bodies to create an immunity to it however in most cases it will not cause the actual illness*
