Do Koreans catch fewer colds because of their diet?
Kimchi has lots of spice, vitamins, and some garlic. Those are supposed to great for the immune system right? Plus I hear vinegar is also good for health.

So do Koreans get sick less, meaning catch colds/flus less?

When I get sick I eat spicy food, take garlic pills and pop vitamins.. so just wondering.

I am a former chef and no diet is going to prevent illness, but it may help with you not suffering to long and recover quickly, bacterial and other types of illnesses are environmental, I would say if you eat well, and get a good selection of foods, your more likely to be healthier overall but not prevent all things from occurring, I ama lacto-ovo vegetarian now, get flu shot every year, I live in Toronto Canada, a city will almost 4 million people, I take the bus, subway and other forms of public transit and my diet varies because I cook alot of ethnic veggie cuisine, I get 1 cold a year and have not had the stomach flu or 24 hour bug in 8 years.

I would think so as when I get sick we cook with A LOT of garlic in our foods and it seems to make them go away

Not that I know of... I work in a company with many nationalities, including Koreans... when a cold bug goes through the office... everyone is bound to catch it.
