I think it's feed a cold starve a fever right?
... it feels like the flu (aching all over, upper respiratory stuff) but I don't have much of a fever (99.8). I don't feel like eating but I'm not getting any better after 3 days. Should I try to force something to eat, or just keep on with the fluids. Thanks.

You don't need to eat much if you don't feel like eating, but be sure you get plenty of liquids. Maybe you should try a little soup.

Yeah... that's right.
You should try some soup or something easy for awhile-
I usually do chicken noodle and crackers when I get sick!

they say chicken soup helps and has been proven medically to make you feel better..can't remember the reason

um well yeah it's feed a cold...but i'm usually hungry when i have a cold. i have one right now, that's why i toasted like a whole loaf of bread today :) definitely drink loads anyway, try to flush it out. maybe ask your pharmacist?

Neither one are entirely correct. If you can keep solid foods down and have either a cold or a fever, be sure to get your body the nutrients it needs. It's very important, however, to keep yourself hydrated. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids (water, gatorade, maybe a limited amount of Sprite to settle your stomach), and eat light, soft, foods that are easy to digest. Start with some broth or jello, and start adding things in: soup, rice, milkshake or smoothie, etc...

If your fever continues, though, and doesn't go down, see your doctor. Also give them a call if you get dehydrated from not being able to keep fluids down.
