Is it safe to mix cold medications?
I'm just wondering if it's safe to mix similar cold medications, esp. if they have similar ingredients like acetaminophen. Example: taking otc Dayquil &/or like generic brand during the day, & then later take night time Contac, Tylenol, or other brand that makes you drowsy. I have a mix of medications, & i'm not finding very helpful info on the web.

NO NO NO NO meds could have different strengths of certain ingredients one ingredient from one could interact with an ingredient with another and if you get side effects from these meds you will be driving the nurses INSANE. You are not a pharacologist you are not qualified to mix meds. You do not know what could happen, Ignorance is not bliss but hell for the medical profession. Call dial a nurse most hospitials offer this service for free and they will be able to advise you what can be taken with what and when. Write this question down and put it in your wallet and ask next time you are going to the doctor.

safe as long as you're not taking them at the same time (then you would be getting too much of the same ingredient, (such as acetaminophen)
call your local pharmacy, they'll tell you it's fine.
