What do I have, a summer cold or flu?
I woke up early this morning feeling terrible. Runny nose and a pounding headache as well as shivers. I've spent most of the day in bed as I am very lethargic and standing makes me giddy. I can't seem to work out if I have a cold or full blown flu as I seems to have a weird mix of symptoms:
Cold: Runny nose and repeated sneezing.
Flu: Feverish (38.5-39f), achy joints and very quick onset (24 hours).
I did a test online that suggested flu but I'm not sure the symptoms are severe enough. Any idea?

The sinus infections going around right now have similar symptoms, I work with doctors, and they say that there are alot of people with cold symptoms that also seem like the flu. Weird...so the best thing to do is take Advil for fever and pain, If you have vicks rub put that on your neck and just take it easy. If your throat gets sore, gargle salt water and drink ALOT of water and juice, you will feel much better tomorrow. If you don't feel better by Monday you may need an antibiotic for a sinus infection, have a good night!

swine fl has all those symptoms...including the ones u listed as cold symptoms.
