Whats the difference between the flu and cold?
Does the flu shot prevent against both?

Flu is actually influenza. The common cold is infection by the rhino virus. You can tell the difference by touching yourself around the sides of your abdominal area. If it's tender and tingly, that would definitely be the flu.

Actually, Toots, it's not common for adults to vomit with the Influenza virus or rhino virus.it is more than common to vomit with Norwalk virus which is often confused as the "stomach flu".The stomach flu does not exist.
Influenza virus: High fever, chills, body aches, fatigue etc.
Rhino virus: Stuffy/runny nose, cough etc.
Influenza hits you on your ass while the rhino virus just makes you uncomfortable.
And no, the flu vaccine can only potentially protect you against the influenza virus, not the rhino virus or norwalk virus.
