Best ways to ease up cold/flu symptoms?
Hi all, well I've caught myself a bug of some kind. It started out as an uncomfortable sore throat. The next morning the sore throat eased up on it's own but now I'm coughing a lot. Sometimes the cough is productive and sometimes its dry. I only hope this doesn't progress into something worse like the flu. For now though I think it's a mild cold of some kind. Anyway, do you have any recommendations to help ease up some of these symptoms to make life a little more comfortable? Any help would be great. Thanks. =)

2 things, hon. 1st--heat water like you would for tea. Add the juice of 1/2 to 1 lemon, and a couple tablespoons of honey. Stir and sip. My mom used to do this when I was growing up, and it always helped. That first sip is a doozy with the sour lemon, but after that it is rather soothing.

2nd. Drinks LOTS of water. Try to flush whatever this is out of your system. It can be uncomfy to drink, so even try it cool to cold--the numbing effect can be soothing.

Try broth, chicken soup with lemon, and rest as much as you can. Hope you feel better soon!
