Can a cold turn into the flu?

Sure... if you get infected with a flu virus during the cold.

No, they are caused by completely different viruses, but it can lower yur resistance and make you more likely to catch the flu. When this happens before the cold is over, it makes it seem like the cold turned into the flu.

Same is true for a cold turning into pneumonia, except that pneumonia is bacterial, not viral.

not necessarily. The flu is a different virus but you are more able to get it because your immune system is low from the cold.

No. They are two different viruses. If you misdiagnosed the beginning of flu for a little cold, I guess it might seem that way.
