Can you get flu symptoms from the flu shot?
Yesterday I recieved the flu shot today I am exhausted and have a pretty bad cough. Could it be because of the flu shot? Also please don't tell me that I have swine flu becuase I have already had it and from what I've heard you can't catch it again.

The flu shot takes up to 2 weeks to produce immunity from the influenza strains in the vaccine. You can already have the flu or you can catch it before that two weeks is up. The shot lasts about 6 months, so you can also catch the flu after the immunity wears off.
That said, the shot kicks your immune system up a notch. For many people, the increased immune response will produce mild upper respiratory symptoms and an achy feeling. It is not the flu and will disappear in a day or so.
The flu, if you have it, will last a week or more.

no you can not get sick from the shot it self. the vaccine they give you is an inactive influenza virus which means its not alive or active. its grown in a eggn you could have had the virus before you got shot and also it takes 2 weeks for the shot to work so you can also get it within that time period.

yes vaccination are either parts of a virus or a dead virus so people with not so great immune can get sick from it
