No, Flu can be pretty bad, with a cold you will only get minor symptoms like headaches, runny nose and a cough, not too bad, but with flu you can get symptoms such as a hacking cough, temperature, body aches, can get nausea, loss of appetite, chills etc. you can read more on wikipedia or bbc.co.uk/health
Edit: forgot to say colds only last up to 2 weeks, flu can last a month or longer, with the symptoms slightly improving each day.
