Flu Shots....................................?
This is a question from your experiences, are you sick more or less with the flu shot, my opinion its a good protection against any the flu virus, but to be honest, since I haven't taken it I have been less sick, now I know there are other contributing factors when getting sick, germs, close contact, airborne germs, bacteria in food.
The question is from your own personal experience, have you been more sick or less, since you have started or stopped taking the Flu shot.

Flu Shot: Influenza Vaccine and Side Effects
Thinking about getting a flu shot or influenza vaccine this year? The influenza vaccine is the best way to prevent the flu, and flu prevention should be a goal for everyone.
According to the CDC, about 5% to 20% of Americans get the flu each year. More than 200,000 people are hospitalized, and about 36,000 people die. These statistics would decrease if more people took advantage of the opportunity to prevent flu with an influenza vaccine or flu shot.

Got a cold and need medicine for a nagging cough? While there is no quick fix for your cough, some over-the-counter (OTC) cough syrups and cough medicines may give you relief. Three types of cough medicines are available OTC for the temporary relief of cough due to a cold or bronchitis. These cough medicines include cough suppressants, oral expectorants, and topical (externally applied) drugs.

When should I get a flu shot?
Because flu season may begin as early as October and run through May, the best time to get a flu shot is in October or November. You can still get an influenza vaccine in December or later, but earlier may be more beneficial in preventing flu.
What types of flu shots or influenza vaccines are available?
There are two types of flu shots or influenza vaccines available for children and adults.
The first kind is the traditional flu shot. The flu shot does not contain a live virus and cannot cause the flu. This influenza vaccine is an inactivated virus that is given with a needle.
The other kind is a nasal influenza vaccine called FluMist. This influenza vaccine contains weakened viruses, which usually do not cause illness but sometimes can cause runny nose, congestion, and fatigue. The nasal influenza vaccine is recommended only for non pregnant, healthy people, ages 2 years to 49 years.

How does the flu shot or influenza vaccine work to prevent flu?
Both the flu shot and FluMist -- the influenza vaccines -- work by causing antibodies to develop in your body. These antibodies provide protection against infection from the flu virus. This antibody reaction may cause fatigue and muscle aches in some people.

pnuemonia & I was hospitalized for a week. Since then I have gotten a flu shot every
year since and I have Not gotten the flu again. I think it helps to have rather than not
get the shot. hope that helped you

A person would get sick virtually the same amount with a flu shot..... versus without. Unless they were to be exposed to the flu virus itself.
The Flu shot only protects a person from a given seasonal flu... and this time around the Bird Flu and Swine Flu (at least in the US). Don't know what they are doing elsewhere.
To answer your question, I've been just sick from one year to the next. At some point I usually end up catching something respiratory like. And, it can take me out of commission for a few days. And, I don't get over it for a couple of weeks.
But if you're asking do I get sick from the flu shot... No.
The people who do, were most likely harboring the virus to begin with. And the shot doesn't cure you. It would only prevent. And, I've had aches and pains/chills with a cold. Doc said since I didn't have a temp. it wasn't the flu. Maybe some people think they have the flu... when they actually don't.
The nasal spray has a live yet weakened virus. Haven't gotten sick from that either.

i,ve gotten flu shots for at least 20 years. i have not had the flu in that time frame. i keep current on all inoculations. this includes h1n1, and Tdap. having had a number of childhood diseases that are almost never heard of any more, i recommend you get all of your recommended shots. flu, whooping cough, chicken pox, tonsillitis, etc. are all weeks of misery and pain. avoid this. the media hype about flu shots being bad is crap.

You haven't asked a question at all!

Check the info. at the National Vaccine Information Centre and the CDC. There is no scientific evidence supporting flu shots and only about 30% of people are gullible enough to get one. Everyone I know who got a flu shot got sick to the point they might as well have had the flu. What a deal. You're better off taking your chances and not bothering. Regular hand washing and extra vitamin D3 are a lot safer and more practical. I've never had a flu shot and have never had the flu, despite high public contact. It all boils down to susceptibility, not scare tactics to sell flu shots.
