for how long are flu or cold germs alive after exiting the infected body through a sneeze or cough?
also if some germs end up on your hands, like from blowing your nose, for how long are the germs on your hands still alive and spreadable?

Rhinovirus (common cold) can remain stable (alive and ready to infect someone) for up to 3 hours after they are coughed or sneezed onto your hands or another surface. Some sources say "several hours", and some sources even say "several days." It may depend on the surface temperature and moistness. Now that I've said all that, I would personally go with "5-6 hours."

Influenza viruses usually survive up to 48, hours on a surface. They're a little tougher than rhinoviruses.

Just having the virus on your hands won't guarantee you'll get it. It must enter your body through your nose (I know, yuck), eyes, or (less likely) the mouth.
