How do i go to the doctor (for cold/flu symptoms) in USA?
i have worldwide health insurance. i called the insurance company and they said to just go to the doctor and then claim back money (as outpatient). How do i find a doctor (GP)? Where should i go?
no i would never go to ER for cold or flu symptoms!

easier to just go to any emergency room.. they bill you.

I'd go to a PrimaCare clinic. Check if there's one in your area. I went once to get my ear irrigated, and then again when I needed to get a tuberculosis test. They're a quick, efficient, no-fuss place to go when you need a checkup for something specific.

Find an Emergent Health Clinic (for non-emergency health issues) if you want to be seen right away. Otherwise, look in the phone book under Physician and then Family Medicine or Internist. There are generally clinics with several doctors which will give you a better chance of getting in quickly.

I wouldn't go to the er they may deem it non emergency and then it won't be covered. Check a phone book for a Doctor where you are and explain your situation to them and then you will get a definate answer. Your insurance company can provide you with a doctor also.

DO NOT go to the ER. Way too many people are going right now, suspecting that they have H1N1 when they really don't, and they are wicked packed. I recently broke my arm, and had to wait almost 2 hours just to be seen by a doctor because there were so many people there. It's called the EMERGENCY room for a reason. Unless you are having difficulty breathing, are profusely vomiting, or have a fever of higher than 101, do not go to the ER. Just call your doctor and they will tell you what to do, and wether or not you need to seek medical attention.
