is it safe to get a flu shot when u have cold?
im going to travel out of the country in december and wanted to get my flu shot soon but i got a cold.i dont want to wait any longer to get it.so would it be okay to get it right now anyway..even with my cold? and if not..please explain why.thank you

Normally this is avoided and not recommended if you are febrile. Possibly your immune system may interfere with the shots you are taking. Also it takes weeks to develop immunity against the disease you are being protected against.

I wouldn't... I would wait until you feel better. Sometimes the flu shot can make you feel a little achy and sick for a few days, it would just make you feel worse if you already have a cold.

You shouldn't get any shots whenever you are sick with anything, even the common cold. It can either make you sicker, or give you the disease the shot is supposed to help prevent. It lowers your immune system. Even though your not supposed to take the shot, ask your doctor because you may still be fine if your immune system is still strong enough.

I got the flu shot when I had a fever and a couple hours later I felt so sick and started to get the bad case of the flu. I don't think it is safe to.

Most doctors and even the form you sign for the shot suggest you wait until your immune system is not suppressed by a current illness as it could potentially make you sicker.
