Is this a cold or flu or something else?
I have a sore throat, achy neck, congestions. I had this last weekend and now it has come back. The cold/flu medicine is not working all that great. So does this sound like a cold? Flu? The sore throat is the worst part.

Could be either, but the achy muscles would point more to a flu.

Severe allergies or the flu is my guess. I am only guessing that it may be allergies, because i was on antibiotics and cold medicine for a few weeks, and it didn't do crap. MY doctor started treating it as an allergic reaction and it went away.
Who knows? Over the coming weekend treat it as allergies and see if that helps.

Because U add the word, Congestions, I would likely think U have a Virus, that is acting similar to a Heavy chest cold.
I would suggest U do take Paracetamol, in whatever form U like every 4 hours. and go to a Chemist/Pharmacy and Purchase a bottle of Bisolvon Chesty.
If not that then a bottle of Senegar and Ammonia
to control the Phelm congestion.

it is likely to be flu, so just call your GP on the phone and take to their advice

Have you ever been checked for a tolerance to the medication you're taking? This is otherwise known as MRSA and does this. It needs to be killed with IV Vancomycin along with other meds. that the the Dr. chooses. Once you are positive for this any ware in the body you'll need to be tested every time you get sick, sorry, but this super-bug is becoming more amd more popular especially in crowded places.
