Would you close a daycare if 1 child had swine flu?
I have a small home daycare of 5 kids. One child is sick today with flu-like symptoms and her mother is taking her to the doctor today. If she has swine flu should I temporarily close? I have 3 children of my own. Also if you was a parent would you be upset if I closed due to Swine Flu?

IF it is in fact swine flu, I'd be more upset if you didn't close.

I would definately close to make sure you disinfect your home and to make sure no other children have gotten swine flu. As a parent I wouldn't be upset if you closed. I wouldn't be upset if you stayed open either, but my child would not be attending until I made sure no other children came down with swine flu.

Would you close just for a normal flu? Swine flu is no more dangerous or infectious than any other flu. It's just caught the headlines because it recently became transmissable between humans. So, if your policy is to close if any kid gets any flu, then yes. Otherwise, no.
