What is the difference between swine flu or influenza and normal flu or influenza?
i was having fever since friday till yesterday ie. monday
i just went for a flu test(a regular flu test)
and they told me today morning that the A+B =Influenza
n i have A=positive(for influenza) n B = negative
so i'm safe from B but not from A
(is this related 2 my blood group{B+} ????)
now i'm going 2 a hospital get it checked
any suggestions?????

DO NOT GET THE SWINE FLU VACCINE. more than half the doctors around the world wont get it because they are not confident in the ingrediants which includes mercury and formaldahyde. not to mention during the swine flu breakout of the 70s more people died from the vaccination than the flu killed itself.

Influenza is influenza the difference is the strain. The flu can infect mammals and birds. Only these groups can get the flu. That is why you have H1 H3 and H5 most flu viruses have genetic markers for 2 or all three H1N1 which is the current virus called swine flu. The A B has nothing to do with blood type it is they are sub-types B usually infects humans and is less rare than the A type that usually infect birds. Normally the flu mutates by picking up or jumping from pigs or birds to humans or visa-versa they trades genetic material that allows them to change hosts. the flu can mutate faster than almost any of virus on earth. The current swine flu is one of the most mild flu strains in recent history. The thing that is causing worry is that it has shown up in the summer where the flu virus normally likes colder weather and the fact that it spreads really easy from person to person. The viral lethality of H1N1 is very low. Seasonal type B flu that shows up every year kills way more people than the swine flu has. You don't need to stress over swine flu it is just another flu strain really. If you get it stay in bed drink lots of fluids take Tylenol like any other flu. If you have underlying heath problems see your doctor he might put you on tamiful to speed up recovery. Main thing is DON'T PANIC swine flu is not ebola it is not going to sneak up when your not looking and murder you.

Swine flu is just a difference strain of the influenza or flu. The reason why there is such the hype is that a lot of the population has not been exposed to this particular strain and so they do not have any immunity built up to it. It looks like we will remedy that problem this Fall with so many people catching the swine flu.

Every year in advance of flu season certain strains are selected to be added to the seasonal flu vaccine that will be produced and offered to patients in the Fall. An educated guess is made as to which strains of the flu may be more prominent. If you get the seasonal flu vaccine it will offer you protection against the strains of flu that they anticipated when they created the vaccine, but it likely will offer very low protection against other strains of flu. It sounds like the A and B you were told about are flu strains. They are not blood types.

They are busy readying a different vaccine for the swine flu. You'd have to get that shot as well to have coverage for the swine flu.

If you do have the swine flu you can read the attached articles on how to get healthy again. Feel better.
