What is a mother to do when the doctors don't think theres anything wrong with my 3 yr old?
Ok this is my issue for the last 6 weeks my daughter who is 3 will be 4 in may. She has had a cough on and off for 6 weeks but if shes not coughing then shes puking and running a high fever. i can't get the Dr's too listen when i tell them i think something is wrong with my child. we have came to the conclusion when she was a baby that she has asthma. i knew with asthma she would get sick alot but i never thought she would be sick this long without something being wrong. they have gave her antibiotics and they haven't help. does anyone have any suggestions on what i should do. i have even went as far as taking her to my local ER and they had the nerve to tell me she had an infection but they wasn't sure if it was due to the flu or just a cold. samething the family Dr's are also telling me but this is frustrating because my daughter looks like she never sleeps shes got dark circles under her eyes where she doesn't get enough sleep at night due to all the coughing. like i said what is a mother to do when the Dr's won't listen when i know there's something going on in my child's body that shouldn't be going on and i'm afraid its gonna get worse and she may have to be hospitalized and i can't go through that again. (lost my son a year ago on march 2nd due to heart defect he was 11 weeks old)

be consistent..tell the doctor face to face..she might have bronchitis..that happens to me all the time.

you know your child best, try a different Doctor. I am sorry for the loss of your son. Hang in there, just be persistant and if one Dr doesnt listen and she still seems sick try another.

Have you had her checked for food allergies?

Mother knows their child the best. I'd take her to another doctor for another check and tell them my concerns just what you've just told us, dark circles under her eyes, not sleeping, etc. You need to tell them straight up and maybe get check up on allergies (you never know).
I'd take her to ER again and tell them what you told us here, your concerns and ask them for testing (allergies) etc.
You could also call help line and talk to them about it.
I'm very sorry about your son's loss, my heart goes out to you.
