What effect did the Marshall plan have on the Cold war?
Im writing an editorial and finished the everything but cannot find exact information on what i need. I know what the Marshall plan is but on all the websites i looked on it just does not get into the cold war. Honestly this is the very last assignment i need to get this credit please help. Also keep your slick comments to yourselves im not asking you to do my assignment i need like two sentences on this i already did the whole editorial. Thanks so much.

I'm not sure if the Marshall plan had much of an effect on the Cold War. The Marshall plan was created to rebuild and strengthen countries in Europe after WWII, but the Cold War is more of a result of the shifts in global power. The US suffered the least and was greatly strengthened by its war effort and the USSR, though hurting from their war with Germany, gained power from the countries they took that they were somehow able to hang onto after the war.

it stopped West Germany from going communist, because after the war, they were devastated by the destruction and high reparations. The Communists already had half of their country, and poverty and destitution, such as that the Morgenthau Plan would have brought Germany, would have led West Germany to communism. That would have been a disaster for Europe and the world, as they would have the biggest workforce in Europe, and potential men for their armies. The Marshall plan effectively stopped Communism's westward lurch, as they had everything east of West Germany. Picture if France neighbored a communist nation, and so would the UK have. The Reds would have had the entire continent, and possibly won the Cold War. While Germany was the enemy in WWII, it was the most important Euro ally against communism, because it was the front line in the Cold War.
