7 month old vomiting after formula/milk (but not solids). Lactose intolerance? Stomach virus?
My 7 mo old son has been projectile vomiting milk/formula for the past 24 hours. I switched from Similac to Enfamil, no change. He either throws up right after feeding 2-3 oz (vs usual 5-6 oz) or after 30-60 min (curdled vomit). I am not sure if he is tolerating breastmilk, he doesnt want to nurse more than a couple of minutes. He's keeping solids (BRAT diet) down mostly, but has projectile vomited apple juice. His tummy looks full even though he's eaten < 6-7 oz of solids and 2-3 oz net of any milk all day today. Bowel/urine are ok so far.
My husband has cough/cold, baby probably caught it.
Ped thinks its stomach virus (probably means she has no clue). Can he develop milk allergy this late? What should I do near term?

When he is vomitting you do not give him milk all day, give pedialyte or water but milk is the worse. Take him to the doc just to be sure.

if this has never happened before, i would assume first that it is some type of illness before a sudden intolerance or allergy.

Considering he also vomited the apple juice, it's probably a virus and not a milk insensitivity. If he isn't dehydrated (which he isn't, if he still pees enough), then I wouldn't worry for now and just see how tomorrow goes. Keep trying to give him small amounts of formula and liquidy solids. Also, vomit also looks like more then it actually is... your son might have consumed more liquid than you think he has. If things don't improve in a few days or your baby gets dehydrated call the doctor again, and if the doctor doesn't do anything then, then I'd get a second opinion. But for now I wouldn't worry.

Give him Pedialyte instead of the milk. If he has a cold milk will make him puke more because it creates more mucus. My 3 year-old has been asking for milk but he has a bad cold right now and it does the same thing.

All 3 of my kids reacted this way when we tried to switch from similac to enfamil and we went to the doctors about it and it was never resolved you may need to change back to similac and see how he keeps it down thats what we did and all of our kids were fine
