Does a spider bite cause flu-like symptoms? Fever, chills, body aches, etc?
I thought I had the flu a couple days ago, til I noticed this big, angry infected spot on my leg... this morning after the shower it kind of looked like there were two fang marks in it.
I did mention it to the doctor, she gave me some topical stuff. She thought it was an infected hair follicle, but I've had one of those before and I don't remember it itching like this one did. And I didn't mention the flu-stuff the other day... I'd assumed it was the flu and I was over it already. A coworker who has a lot of medical knowledge (and lots of credentials with it) said he thought it looked more like a bite, just hard to say because I'd scratched it some in my sleep.

yes it could def cause those symptoms, or the bite could just be a coincidence. your best bet is to give your doctor a call, even if you don't want to go in describe to the nurse what's going on and they can give you more information
