I have a bad, bad, bad, cold and flu. Can I take an amoxicillin pill to clear out my cold and flu virus? ?
My problem is that I found some Amoxicillian pills in my medicine cabinet and they expired from 2005. Are they still good to take? Help...No other medicine is helping my cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your medication is out of date, and is really made for fighting bacterial infections. If you have a viral infection, amoxicillan won't cure your ills. Try some hot chicken soup!

No. There is nothing that will rid you of a cold. Just try to stay warm and get rest so your immune system can fight it off quicker. Just get some hot soup and drink plenty of water and some fruit juice.

Amoxicillin does not get rid of the virus. It's for infections. I would not take pills that old and without the advice of a doctor. Try chicken soup. It's the best for colds.

First throw out that medication. You can have serious problems if you have it. If you're having difficulty breathing then go to an emergency room and see a doctor.

Your Amoxicillin is well past expiration-toss it, If what you are ailing from is truly a cold or flu, antibiotics would be ineffective- they are viral. Get some OTC cold and flu medicine and let it run its course.
