Swollen/sore throat without cold symptoms?
Hi!

Last week I got the flu on Tuesday, and on Sunday I felt 90% better.
However, that following Tuesday, my throat was extremely swollen making it sore, so swollen/sore that it hurt to swallow my own saliva. I don't have any cold symptoms, just a sore throat, and there is no growth seen in my throat. This has been persisting since Tuesday till now (Thursday), and I don't think it'll be getting any better. It hurts so much, even to talk!

What is wrong? I don't think its a common cold....please help!

thank you!
When my roommate looked down my throat she said it was completely swollen!
I had a vitamin pill earlier, and I could feel that tiny pill on both sides of my throat (usally i dont feel a thing really). Being sick during college finals is not fun. ]:

You had the flu - what were the symptoms? How was this different from a severe cold? From the closeness of the symptoms of your flu and the sore throat, I would suggest this may be a secondary infection that was developing at the end of your flu.
