What cold/flu medications can you give a 2 year old?
My 2 year old is down with a bad cough, runny nose and slight fever, can he take any medications besides Tylenol and Motrin to help him feel better? We've already got him coated in Vicks, the humidifier running and saline drops in his nose but the poor little guy keeps waking up coughing.

discuss the med question with your pharmacist & pediatrician. use the bulb syringe with saline drops frequently, wash all hands well, treat the fever, allow the child to rest unbundled, give him a warm bath & plenty of fluids.

I have a 2 and a half year old, and as far as I know, you aren't supposed to give them any cold medications. You can, however, give him homeopathic remedies and supplements. I give my daughter vitamin C (powder mixed with juice), multivitamins (liquid), and echinacea (Deep Immune Kids by St. Francis Herbs). If you go to a health food store, ask about what you can give a 2 year old for a cough and runny nose.
Make sure he drinks lots and lots of fluids and gets lots of rest.

well my daughter is 22 months old and the doctor hasnt said anything to me when i tell them i give my daughter tylenol cold and cough or the cough and runny nose... i mean you can give them half a dropper...
o als this depends on your kids weight too.. my daughter weighs 27lbs so i give her half a dropper. one time at the doctors when they asked how much i had been giving her they told me " you know she could be taking a full dropper right? she weighs 27 pounds" but the nurse said it so rude, i was actually offended, that i didnt ask questions i ignored her so i still give her half a dropper.. sorry for the whole long story...
