Figuring out the difference between a cold and the flu can be difficult. If you can get to the doctor within the first 2 days of having symptoms, your doctor can run tests to see if it is indeed the flu or just a cold. If it is the flu, your doctor can prescribe Tamiflu to help you get over your illness faster.

Here are the symptoms for the common cold:
- there is rarely a fever or headache
-aches and pains are few
-there is never extreme exhaustion
-stuffy nose, sneezing and sore throat are normal
-mild to moderate cough is normal

Here are the symptoms for the flu:
-there is usually a high fever
-headache and body aches are normal and sometimes severe
-extreme exhaustion is common
-stuffy nose, sneezing and sore throat are rare
-coughs are normal and can be severe

I would suggest a doctor's visit if you think you may be coming down with the flu.

I don't think you have either a cold or the flu.
I believe you have allergies. ;)
