Why does everybody get sick in the winter? Wouldn't the cold kill germs?
I've asked all my teachers and they have no clue why the "Cold & Flu Season" exists.

the cold lowers your immune system or something making you more succeptible to diseases and colds. i think thats why

because the cold weather decreases your immune system which makes you more likely to catch something.. you wont get sick just becasue its cold outside but to avoid it take lots of vitamin C to boost your immune system when its cold

The cold weather does NOT decrease the normal immune system! That's FICTION! Numerous studies confirm that!
Two main reasons why people get more colds/influenza in the colder months:
1. People are usually more confined to closer spaces and have more contact with "germs" that cause illness--especially the rhinoviruses that cause the common cold and strains of influenza.
2. Changes in temperature an humidity irritate the mucus membranes. Going from a warm house or building outside to a cold environment is a drastic "shock" to our eyes, ears, nose, and throat's membranes.
But the primary reason is #1 above.
The best way to prevent colds/influenza viruses, is to wash or sanitize your hands frequently.
Last, while vitamin C and zinc lozengers may help prevent some colds and lessen the duration of those we get, do NOT take large doses or either. Vitamin C is fairly acidic and can irritate the stomach. It IS a good idea to supplement your diet with Vitamin C since it's the only vitamin our body does not produce on its own. I wouldn't suggest more than 1000 mg a day total--best of taken 250-500 mg two or three times daily with food.
Hope this helps separate some fiction from medical facts =)

if u sneeze in a closed space (a room, car, bus, restaurant...etc)
of course your germs will travel and go inside everybody else!!
the weather has nothing do with it.
if someone else sneezes or touches somewhere u may later on place your hand..
obviously u will get those germs/bacteria/virus.. and get sick!!
