Can cat's get common viruses such as the flu or a stomach virus from humans?
My entire family had a horrible stomach virus this past week which made me wonder if our cats are able to catch it.

it's not likely. however, you can catch rabies from them. i have five cats and it has never happend to me. i had them for 11 years.

no. there are very few viruses that can be transmitted from humans to cats and vice versa. rabies is one like someone else mentioned. there are certain parasites like tapeworms, roundworms, etc that your family can catch from your pet. also skin issues like ringworm can be transmitted to people from pets.
