Colds are caused by a viral infection. Penecillin only works for bacterial infections. So no, don't take penecillin for your cold. Get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids, if your fever gets uncomfortably high, take a fever reducer (e.g. Tylenol; aspirin, make sure you're not allergic), and if it gets too high, see a doctor. Your body will fight it off eventually and you'll be fine.

Having a cold does not necessarily mean that you have an infection. Penincilin is for infections. NO, you can not take it for your cold. Just buy specific medication for a cold at the pharmacy.

I would just take cold meds. I don't know if penicillin would make you feel better because it's just an antibiotic. If you're just getting a cold then take some Airborne...works like a charm!

It won't help the common cold.
There really is no cure for a cold, just some things to help with symptoms. Penicillin won't do a thing.

There is no cure for the common cold and I wouldnt take a prescription that was for something else.

Try drinking lots of water and getting plenty of sleep, maybe you can flush your system before you get a fever.
