Just a poll for all parents, how many of you give your toddlers a flu shot?
Just wondering how many parents give there toddler a flu shot. My son is almost 19 months and we do not, but he is home with me all day and not at daycare or a babysitter. I just feel like my Drs dont approve with our decision. Also while on the subject, what about the hep. A vaccine? Thanks for your input!

my son gets one and he is also home all day during the week with my fiance he isn't around other people unless it is with me in a store but he still got one

She did get the regular seasonal flu shot and she gets the regular vaccines as recommended. We haven't given her the H1N1 shot yet and don't know yet if we will.

Yes to flu and H1N1. Our son is 20 months old and home with me. We considered refusing the hep A, but our pediatrician convinced us with the "herd immunity" argument, which I agree with in principle.

Edited: As a side note, we live in a major city. I can't really say how much that was a factor - or that if we lived in a small town we would have refused the vaccine.

flu mist yes, but i did regret it because my daughter got a mild case right after she took it. Hep A is now required in the state of Texas in order to enter preschool so my daughter has that one also.

I have 3 children 10,8, and 6 and we (the whole family) have never had a flu shot. You are your child's best advocate. If after doing your research you make an informed decision not to have your child given the flu shot (or even the hep.A shot) than that is your choice, and no one can take that choice a way from you. Just make sure you do your Research first.
